KITCHEN-DINING ROOM
An impressively large open-plan kitchen-dining room, where the old Cognac press and ageing barrels once stood, is very well-equipped, specially to cater for large gatherings: gas/electric range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Belfast sink island, microwave, coffee machine. There are plenty of pots and pans, cutlery, crockery and glassware to cater for the largest of gatherings. There is a breakfast bar, a pair of armchairs and a sofa bed with a lovely view of distant trees through the large French windows. The dining table can seat 12 comfortably (16 at a squeeze!), and sits beneath the mezzanine level, accessed via a spiral staircase. The whole area has underfloor heating.
LIVING ROOM
The original stone fireplace with log burner takes pride of place, and where better to sit with a glass of cognac at the end of an evening? Some logs will be provided for winter stays. There is a 3-seater sofa, 2 armchairs and a double futon in the corner snug. There is also a TV with UK Freesat TV and a DVD player and home cinema projector for movies. The wifi broadband access covers the whole house. Please note – as it is a satellite connection, download limits apply. Emailing and web browsing is fine – music or film downloads are not. Extra charges may be applicable if the download quota is reached.
ENTRANCE
The large, inviting entrance and hallway welcomes you into the house. The main stairs lead you up to the three bedrooms (a dog bed under the stairs is available for well-behaved dogs).BATHROOMS
Three toilets and three showers cater comfortably for large groups. There are two bathrooms on the ground floor: a toilet, basin and shower room, and a separate bathroom. On the first floor, one bedroom has en suite toilet, shower and basin, and there is a third toilet with basin shared between the two other bedrooms.
LAUNDRY
There is a laundry room with washing machine and ceiling clothes airer. An outdoor clothes line is also available.
GARDEN
The garden is compact and private, sweeping around the front and side of the house. It is a real sun-trap and a lovely spot for sun loungers, and also the place for al fresco dining. There is a large barbeque area next to the herb garden. Under the pergola, covered in fragrant climbing plants, is a perfect place for a cool drink on the hammock. The 5x3 metre (1.3m deep) solar-heated above-ground pool (from June-September) is great to keep children amused all day, or plenty big enough for adults to relax and enjoy a drink. Please note - there is no shallow end, so small children need to be supervised.A shed houses other outdoor essentials: teak dining furniture, parasols and various pool toys.
